Two Sons & A Milk Cow

From Our Family Farm to Your Family

Two Sons & A Milk Cow started with something simple: our family wanting to know where our food came from and wanting to provide our children with fresh, locally produced food we could feel good about.

What began with our two sons and a family milk cow has grown into an opportunity to share the farm lifestyle we love with other local families.

Nestled in the hills of East Tennessee, we're raising our family, caring for our animals, and getting back to a simpler way of doing things.

Know your farmer. Know your food.

Our Herd Share Program

Our herd-share program gives local families the opportunity to become members of our farm and share in the milk produced by our dairy cows.

Rather than purchasing milk at a traditional retail store, herd-share members purchase an ownership interest in the herd and pay an ongoing boarding and care fee associated with maintaining their share.

Members then receive their portion of the milk produced by the herd according to their membership agreement.

Fresh from the farm. From cows you can actually know.

Know Your Farmer. Know Your Food.

There is something special about knowing exactly where your food comes from.

When you become part of Two Sons & A Milk Cow, you aren't dealing with a large dairy operation. You're working directly with the family feeding the cows, maintaining the pasture, cleaning the equipment, milking the animals, and caring for them every day.

We welcome our members to learn more about our farm, our cows, and how their food is produced.

How Our Herd Share Works

Herd Share Membership

We want our program to remain small, personal, and centered around our local community.

Membership availability is based on the number of shares available and the natural milk production of our cows.

Membership Includes

  • Ownership interest in our dairy herd

  • Your allotted share of the herd's milk

  • Scheduled farm pickup

  • Direct communication with our family

  • The opportunity to know the farm and animals producing your food

Membership is limited.

An Important Note About Raw Milk

Because raw milk is not pasteurized, it can contain harmful bacteria and other germs that may cause serious foodborne illness.

Pasteurization is designed to kill disease-causing germs and does not eliminate milk's major nutritional benefits.

People who are pregnant, young children, older adults, and individuals with weakened immune systems are at greater risk of serious illness from contaminated raw milk.

We encourage every family to educate themselves about both the potential benefits and risks of consuming raw milk and make the decision that is right for their household.
